My client liked the chimp paintings I’ve been doing and had an idea to riff on that and a stuffed toy monkey, “Zippy” he had as a wee lad. What would Zippy look like all grow’d up? Incorporating key elements of personal meaning in his life and a biker as the metaphor for deep honor and loyalty, and strength, many can be found as pins and patches on the vest, and tattoos on his arms. With his head wrapped in the American flag, smoking a big cigar and sipping his favorite bourbon in a glass with his company logo etched on it.
This painting will hang in the bourbon bar he has in his home. Let’s raise a glass to Zippy!
