Watercolor Art

I find painting with watercolors offers the largest range of “languages” for visual storytelling. It dries fairly fast, and it’s easy to work in subtle layers, either dry or in puddles on wash.

Your brushes can set the pigment in a wash of water, never knowing a brush was ever there, or apply it with such fine detail that it looks like a colored pencil. The ability to re-wet the pigment offers up more experimentation for how to move the paint.

It’s also very friendly to mixed media because so many other media prefer a paper substrate.
